Day 17 Sunday 7/07

What new can I say about wake up anymore? Well I can say that dad was up long before I was, Why? Simple, he had to drop grandma off at the Airport, she went back home today, meaning there is one less person traveling with us and in this RV.

Like always it took a bit for all to wake up, but even still we actually managed to leave camp earlier today, before 9 rolled around by several minutes. Though sadly we only went about a half hour up the freeway before we decided to stop for some gas. And as always we soon got back on the road.

After a good long while on the road we decided to stop for lunch, and it just so happened to be at a little spot on the side of the road, but hey who am I kidding, it got us food! As you can tell, I was hungry at the time.

And then when we had finished up our lunch we hoped over to a nearby gas station and filled up our gas tank. It was a short fill up that had us back on the road in no time.

The drive….I don’t know why but I swear it was more boring than normal. Then again…a lot of these drives are boring, the best I can usually do is just sit and wait. But eventually we had to stop for gas…again. What can I say this RV is a gas guzzler, the fact that it can go several hours without a refill just says how big the tank is.

Once done with gas, we had to a bit down the road for where we were staying for the night…..hm….haven’t I said that before? Well we got there a little bit before five. We are in Utah by now, but thankfully I don’t have to worry about time changes, not for several days at least.

After a bit we got the RV into a spot and the whole settled down for a nice night stay. With that done, it was evening as usual around here, it is nice when that happens. Eventually we had our dinner and the adults decided to go for a walk after that, while me and sister relaxed. But other than that it was a relaxing night.

Tomorrow is yet another travel day, I hope you’re knuckles haven’t gotten bruised yet because we still need you to do that knocking for us, if you do, we will.

Day 16 Saturday 7/06

Sadly I forgot to type this when I had the time again, so I am going to try and keep it short.

Wake up was normal around here, once up it was into the Van for a crap ton of driving. Most of said driving was in a park so there was a lot of stopping for photos and at one point lunch. But eventually we got through the whole thing, had dinner then came back to the RV.

And as always, once back at the RV it was relaxing and doing what not. Tomorrow we plan to be on the move again, don’t know how much I just know we are. So if you want to start knocking on that wood again go ahead, we still need it.

Day 15 Friday 7/05

So….I’m running out of ways to start these things off. But that happens when you do this on a day to day basses. Well anyways woke up at seven again, and relaxed my way through the morning. And like always, the family all got up in time and we got the RV ready.

Sadly I was an idiot again and forgot to have this going when we left, so I can’t say when we left real easily but it would be safe to say we left close to nine like we normally do.

Before we left completely though we got to have a conversation with…someone from the campground. Apparently our light pole that we have attached to the flag pole we put up had become the talk of the campground of sorts. It was cool knowing that but it was still nice when we got on the road again and were on our way.

Amazingly it wasn’t even twelve when we arrived at our stop for the day. And like the last stop we plan on being here for a few days, but given we are here This early…well I don’t know what to think by this point. Alright correction, we were not stopping by then, Don’t ask why I wasn’t getting clarification thanks to having an angry sibling.

Our next attempt to stop at a campground was near 12:30. This one we were able to get a spot, so we soon got ourselves into a spot and got the RV situated.

But then we hoped into the Van and went for a drive…a very long drive. A drive in which we decided to go a “nearby” national park, explore a bit. And then have Dinner, drive a bit more then spend several hours at an observatory and look at the stars. And then right back to the RV.

By the time we got back it was late, hence the shortness of the explanations of the day’s events. I am not really in the mood to type up a long thing right now so I am trying to keep this as short as possible.

So tomorrow we got even more driving in the Van, much of the same as today, very long and very boring. But I will try and tell you what happens. Now…goodnight…

Day 14 Thursday 7/04

Sadly in a massive and stupid delay for me, I am typing this a tad late, so exact times are near impossible. Just felt I should warn you.

I can start off with saying we all got up nice an early. We were afraid of a local weather system moving in and dropping rain on us, so we decided to do what we wanted early. And by that I mean we hopped in the Van and did way to much driving.

You see we are camped near Pike’s Peak, and it was decided we would go see it, so we spent most of the morning driving up, got there near lunch had lunch then came back down taking photos all the while and boring me half to death and freezing a few of us. Okay I just noticed that was a bit of a run on sentence, sorry about that.

After done with Pike’s Peak we drove around trying to decided what to do next, or first to choices were bust be it because of overcrowded or price. But what we did do…well let’s just say it took a good long while and a lot of photos.

But when that was done we went and had dinner, I found out my stomach was not as big as I hoped or as small as I feared. And when we were done with dinner, the weather system we were afraid would hit us earlier FINALLY hit, and only barley so. I hate to say it, but I kind of figured that would happen, we are next to the MOUNTAINS for crying out loud, and mountains are darn good at stopping large weather systems. Now granted some do get over but given the sizes of what we were seeing I wasn’t expecting much.

I starting to think I need to stop with my mini rants….anyways we hoped back in the Van and came back to the RV. We had to unload the RV a bit, and then we found out sister had forgotten something back at the place we had eaten at (and I put that because my mind decided to fail me on spelling again). After a bit of work and some running around that was quickly rectified…okay why can I smell that much more complicated word and not the more common word I wanted to put above…….I can’t understand myself anymore.

Once all was done we settled in and sorted a few things in the RV then had a more relaxing and normal evening.

Tomorrow it is more traveling, it isn’t much though. We don’t plan on going all that far but the wood knocking is still welcomed (I DID IT AGAIN)…..I’ll shut up now before I miss spell something else…again…

PS. I completely forgot what day it was when I was typing this, so HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY !

Day 13 Wednesday 7/03

I’m starting to think there is no longer such a term as sleeping in with me, Why? Because I woke up at Eight again. That is starting to get bothersome, but what can I do. Well all I can do is what is done every morning, wake up and get the RV ready to travel as well as relax a bit. And that is what we did, and I say we because the rest of the family eventually woke up as well.

We left camp late sadly, by about a half hour. But like always once on the road we were…well traveling yet again. I know I’m being repetitive but I’m running out of things to say.

Eventually we dropped an hour, and by that I mean we went from Central time back over to Mountain time. So I guess I can say the timing of everything is a little messed up. But Hey I would rather gain an hour than loose it.

At 12:01 local time we got to stop for some gas, and lunch. And since it was a Flying Js I decided to get some pizza, I’ve been seeing them every time we’ve gone into a Flying Js and I couldn’t resist any more. As always we were back on the road in no time, continuing are long trek across…I don’t know what to call this terrain anymore so I’ll just say: across the road. Don’t like that? Well then you can come up with a better idea because I’m getting confused out here.

Eventually we did a stop, this stop was not like our normal. This stop was so that we could go shopping for food at whole foods. Time? Two. After I do believe to be about an hour, we left with a what we wanted plus a bit more. And one they were put away we were back on the road.

Though we were already decently close to our destination for the next few days. It took a bit of work this time around to get the RV into position and all of that but once done we all settled in for a nice relaxing afternoon/evening.

Well actually that didn’t completely happen. We decided to go out for some dinner, which was damn good. And then once done with dinner we drove to a store and got some bottled water, which we had basically run out of, I will never know how that completely happened.

But once done with that it truly was back to the RV for relaxing/fighting with the RV and all the other stuff we do here.

Tomorrow the RV is staying in place, but instead we will be driving around in the Van doing different things for the day. So all in all I am expecting a semi-busy day. But we’ll all find out tomorrow. But if you want the knocking can continue (and if not for safe travel then for me not trying to kill one of our pets, these guys are getting annoying. I mean as I type this I have a cat balancing on my leg, and it is not comfortable!).
